Accessibility statement
Our commitment to making this website accessible, the standard we work to and how to tell us if something is not working for you.
We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever their circumstances and however they choose to access it. We have built the site with accessibility in mind from the start, and we continue to review and improve it.
The standard we work to
This website has been designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the internationally recognised standard for accessible websites.
We tested every page of this website in September 2026, on desktop and mobile screen sizes, against WCAG 2.2 AA using automated accessibility checks. We fixed the issues we found. The remaining exceptions are in third-party content, listed under known limitations below.
What we have done
To make this website easier to use, we have:
- chosen text and background colour pairings that meet WCAG AA contrast requirements
- set a minimum body text size of 16 pixels, with a clear heading structure on every page
- made interactive elements at least 24 by 24 pixels, with key controls on mobile at least 44 by 44 pixels
- made sure every page can be navigated by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
- built expandable sections, such as the urgent help panel, so that they announce whether they are open or closed to screen readers
- given images descriptive alternative text
- used a consistent page structure, with a single main content area on each page
Known limitations
Some parts of this website are provided by third parties and are not under our control, so they may not meet the same standard. These include the MuchLoved funeral notices and online tributes, the Google reviews shown on our testimonials page and the embedded maps on our branch pages.
